Impact of planting distances to arthropods abundance on kangkong

Abstract Kangkong ( Ipomoea reptans Poir) is the favourite green vegetable especially most of Asian people. The important factors affecting production kangkong planting distance. optimal distance create an ideal microhabitat around crop and potential to suppress development insect pests. research purpose study impact arthropods abundance on kangkong. was conducted in Somba Opu District, Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi from February May 2020. identification carried out at Pest Laboratory, Department Plant Diseases, Faculty Agriculture, Hasanuddin University Makassar. four treatments distance, P1= 5 cm x cm; P2 = 10 cm, P3 15 P4 seeds spread (without distance), respectively. Each treatment repeated times, caught by pitfall trap. sampling method used diagonal pattern. Observation began when 7 days after with interval until harvest. results divided into two group (insect pest natural enemies) showed that: 1) highest number pests trap found Valanga sp. 1.25 individual); 2) enemies Hymenoptera (Formicidae); 3) harvest P1 (13.1 kg) lowest (11.3 kg).
